The Young Creative Network (YCN) Student Awards were announced earlier this month, with eight awards being won by Falmouth University Students studying BA(Hons) Graphic Design (GD) and MA Creative Advertising (CA).
Judged by brand names – including Douwe Egberts, Forestry Commission England and Lego – who set this year’s programme of briefs, students officially commended as their work has been recognised as being of outstanding quality are:
Will Bennett (GD)
Michael Lieu (GD)
Matthew Travis (GD)
Josh Turner (GD)
Graham Morris & Josh Turner – joint entry (GD)
Jack Denyer & Barney Spiro – joint entry (CA)
Ruby Norman-Curran & Jessica Weeks – joint entry (CA)
Jessica Weeks & Jo Taylor – joint entry (CA)
Commended students will be invited to the YCN Student Awards Ceremony in September 2013 and their work will be showcased in the upcoming YCN Student Awards Annual and on the YCN website.
The YCN was established in 2001 with the aim of creating a supportive network for young professionals drawn to the worlds of design, advertising, illustration, animation and all creative business in-between. It states: “We want to put the wind into their sails; celebrating the best of their work, while sharing intelligence and inspirations to empower them along the way to wherever they want to go.”
A close-knit team at YCN helps ambitious creative organisations around the world connect with their members and find talent for their opportunities, commissions and campaigns – or sometimes just to be inspired by something new.
