The BA(Hons) Graphic Design course has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with GF Smith, one of the world’s most prestigious manufacturers of fine papers. It was with great pleasure, therefore, that we were able to host their touring Heritage Exhibition in our very own Graphic Design lobby earlier this term, and we were honoured to have Mark Jessett from GF Smith with us for the private view.
The exhibition captured nearly one hundred and thirty years of collaboration between GF Smith and the best graphic designers, photographers & artists, resulting in a catalogue of truly ground-breaking and iconic promotional materials. It featured work from contributors such as Saul Bass, Milton Glaser, Paul Rand, Bill McKay, SEA Design, Made Thought and Studio Makgill, as well as documenting the development of GF Smith’s range over the past century.
