D&AD New Blood is the annual industry event for showcasing new young talent. The event is attended by hundreds of creative practitioners from the London agencies, scouting for bright young teams.
This year, the show took place at Spitalfields Market in the middle of a London heatwave with temperatures on the stands soaring into the 30s. No place for wilting violets. But, despite the heat, our Final Year students worked hard to network with creative teams and Creative Directors from agencies such as WCRS, BBH, O&M, VCCP, Rapp and many more. The name of the game is to impress with the portfolio work and many of our teams secured invitations for placements and book critiques. Hopefully, in time, these opportunities will turn into jobs.
On Thursday evening, after the show, the Creative Advertising Course held a networking event at the Water Poet pub, which was well attended by Falmouth alumni and invited industry figures. For our Final Year students it marked the end of a long, happy and (we hope) successful journey with us. A few pints were downed and more than a few tears shed. We wish our Final Year the very best as they embark on their wonderful new careers.
