Graphic Design students awarded at YCN Ceremony

Students from Graphic Design were recently awarded commendations and winner’s trophies with others from Falmouth’s School of Communication Design at the prestigious YCN ceremony held at London’s Barbican Centre. Sian Willis, won the overall packaging award for her entry into the ‘Propercorn’ brief and Sophia Clark received a commendation for her entry for the ‘Yorkshire Tea’ packaging project.

The YCN awards are one of the top competition schemes open to final year and recent graduates and form a fantastic springboard for students at the start of their careers. Entering the awards depends on a student’s interest and employment horizons and winning one is the icing on the cake for their time with us at Falmouth.

Other awards that also form part of our student’s final year choice include D&AD, Royal Society of Arts and the International Society of Typographic Designers, among many more. These also sit with a range of self-initiated and collaborative projects that help build a portfolio that is representative of a student’s strengths and skills for future career aspirations.
